Samuel C. F Hahnemann (1755-1843).The
German doctor responsible for the founding of homeopathy. According
to this form of medical thinking, various medical conditions
may be treated by the use of minimal doses of substances which
if given at high doses would produce the symptoms of the disease
itself. For example, stomatitis (inflammation of the mucosa
in the mouth) is treated with very tiny doses of mercury, which
is responsible for causing stomatitis at high doses.
